A workers' community in Switzerland

Is something going wrong at your workplace in Switzerland? You do not have to face it alone.

As a member, you can ask for support when you start a job, receive a new contract, notice something odd on your payslip or an unexpected deduction, are unsure how to reply to your employer, or feel that a colleague is treating you without respect.

“We don't just tell you what your rights are. We also help you stand up for them.”

One timely question can prevent a lot of later trouble.

  • Information in English for people working in Switzerland
  • Pay, dismissal, overtime, contract
  • Advice, letters, paperwork, next step
  • Employment law proceedings → we support you

What is membership good for right now?

Better to ask early than to scramble later.

You can ask questions before there is any dispute. We can go through the important paperwork and discuss what is worth keeping. If something does go wrong later, you won't be starting from zero.

Now

  • You can ask before you sign or reply.
  • We help you make sense of your contract, payslip, notice of dismissal and the collective labour agreement (GAV).
  • You will know which documents and messages are worth keeping.
  • You won't have to look for help for the first time under pressure.
  • A community stands behind you.

If a dispute arises later

  • The important information has already been gathered.
  • You have a record: timeline, messages, documents.
  • You know who to turn to and what the next step is.
  • You don't have to work out the way forward on your own.
A real community

There is strength in numbers.

Grund is backed by a community of people living and working in Switzerland. We also meet in person, listen to each other and talk about real workplace situations.

For us there is a person behind every contract, payslip and employer letter. That's why we always start by looking at what happened to you and what you want to see clearly.

  • This page is in English; the language of personal guidance is agreed in advance.
  • You do not have to face workplace problems on your own.
  • Together with a specialist, we review your options and help you identify a suitable next step.

Real member stories

These are the kinds of cases we have already helped with.

Three member stories. The amounts shown come from real cases.

Anasztázia
electrical technician
Result
CHF 10,000

CHF 10,000 net was recovered.

I wasn't sure I even had grounds to speak up. They helped me go through the paperwork and understand what could be claimed. I didn't feel alone.
Zsolt
plasterboard installer
Result
4 months' pay

After the employer's insolvency, four months' wages were secured.

When the company went bust, I thought I could say goodbye to my wages. They helped me put together what had to be filed and where. That way four months' pay wasn't lost.
Nikolett
beauty professional
Result
CHF 8,500

CHF 8,500 net in holiday pay was recovered, going back several years.

For years it never occurred to me that unpaid holiday pay also counts retroactively. They helped me sort out the periods and explained clearly what I could claim.

The examples shown are outcomes of real individual cases. Every case is different; an outcome cannot be guaranteed.

How we help

We don't just point out the problem. We work out the next step with you.

In an employment matter the small details often decide things: a date, a payslip, a message, or exactly what was said.

We talk through what happened

We listen to what happened to you and help you bring order to the dates, events and open questions.

We look at the paperwork

Contract, payslip, notice of dismissal, messages, Arbeitszeugnis — we look at what matters.

We work out what is missing

Many people don't know which documents are needed for a case. We give you a list.

We help you word your reply

If you have to write to your employer, we help make it clear, firm and usable.

We prepare you for the next step

If a meeting, a formal letter or a more serious procedure becomes necessary, you don't have to figure it out alone.

With the Swiss context in mind

The aim is that you understand what is happening and know what to watch out for in Switzerland.

How it works

This is how support begins

01

You describe briefly what happened

You don't need to write in legal language. Write it in your own words.

02

We get in touch with you

We tell you which documents are needed and how you can send them securely.

03

We bring order to the case

We look at the key dates, the open questions and the missing paperwork.

04

We discuss the next step

We can help prepare a formal demand letter, work out what may be owed to you and, if court proceedings become necessary, help you prepare and support you through the process.

Membership

Three membership levels, depending on where you stand.

No dispute yet? The Basic membership lets you think ahead. If a dispute has already arisen, Silver or Gold membership gives more targeted support.

The biggest advantage of joining early

Don't start looking for support only once the damage is done.

If you have been an Basic member for twelve consecutive months of uninterrupted and fully paid membership before a dispute arises, support with preparing and following a later court process may be available, subject to the Membership Terms and Grund's available capacity. There is no retroactive entitlement and no guaranteed outcome; you act in your own name, and the fee remains CHF 35/month.

But that isn't the only reason it pays to join in time. If you already have someone to ask during your employment, there is a much better chance of finding out whether your pay, your holiday entitlement and overtime are calculated correctly and whether you really receive everything you are entitled to. Often the biggest problem isn't the one you have already noticed, but the one you don't yet know is missing.

The Basic membership fee is CHF 35 per month. The button opens Stripe Checkout in English; membership starts when the first payment succeeds.

Who is it for?

If you don't have a dispute yet, but want to know what you may be entitled to and how to get the most out of your employment.

  • You can ask before you act
  • Basic strategy and orientation
  • Going through your contract, payslip, GAV and employer letters
  • We help you spot when something may entitle you to more
  • Preparation of formal demand letters

After twelve consecutive months of uninterrupted and fully paid Basic membership, broader employment law support – up to and including court proceedings – may be available at this level for a dispute that arises afterwards, subject to the Membership Terms and Grund's available capacity. There is no retroactive entitlement and no guaranteed outcome; the member acts in their own name. The fee remains CHF 35/month.

Acting early puts you in a stronger position.

Important to know

It matters that you know what to expect.

The Grund Munkavállalói Egyesület (Grund Workers' Association) is an employee advocacy association. Grund is not a law firm and does not act as your lawyer or legal representative. Members act in their own name; we provide guidance, document preparation, strategic support and, where appropriate, accompaniment to meetings or hearings.

We do not guarantee any outcome. What we do commit to is helping you understand your situation, gather the important documents and act better prepared.

Don't go it alone

Don't be left alone with your workplace problem.

No dispute yet? Membership lets you prepare in advance. Already have a problem? Describe it and we'll look at how we can support you.
